NETHERMINED
We visited Nethermined 4 today. For those who don't know, it's an unofficial Minecraft, YouTube and Gaming event in the NorthEast ran by lovely parents who wanted to organise something for kids who love gaming in the region as there isn't really anything like that up here.
I will be honest, Nethermined is usually one of those events I grin and bear because my kids LOVE it. They love anything to do with gaming whereas I'm just not into it. I took my book to read today and decided I'd sit in a corner somewhere with a coffee and let them get on with it.
But.....I didn't get a chance to open my book and this was the first Nethermined event that has felt lovely and chilled and that I could actually enjoy as well as the kids. Here are some of the things we got up to:
*Minecraft colouring *Creative minecraft session with coding shortcuts *YouTuber panel discussing their stories, how they got into YouTubing and tips for success *PvP Minecraft battles (this was Harry's favourite and he took part in three sessions) *Retro gaming zone - WWF Smackdown was their favourite *Shopping for treats - Minecraft toys were available from just £1! Heidi bought a little figure for this price *Minecraft free play *Fortnite free play
I honestly had a great day with the kids. It's set to rain tomorrow, if your kids love Minecraft and gaming, it might be worth popping along. You can buy tickets here (including a special offer with discounts for their upcoming September event):https://nethermined.com/nethermined-4-special-offer/
I also had a quick chat with BoxHead Craft crafts - they sell kits which allow you to design your own boxhead - they gave us one to try so I'll let you know how we get on next week.
I honestly thought this Nethermined event was the best one yet. Did anyone else visit? What did you think?
(Disclosure - I was provided with free tickets in return for hosting a competition but not asked to blog about the event)
